PokeMadams v0.2 Post Gamejam update


PokeMadams v0.2

Trying to create a Pokemon like RPG for a two week gamejam was a real challenge. Version 0.1 was really rough around the edges but I manage to get a lot of gamelogic coded.

I managed to spend some time polishing this RPG with the new and improved version 0.2. Here is a list of changes made to PokeMadams.

  • Clean up sprites
  • Replace old tileset with new tileset
  • One way ledge jumping
  • Display character portrait splash on text display
  • Quality of life menus and redesign
  • Profile display Madams Collected: x / 65
  • Options functions
  • Battle touch up
  • Escape percentages to fail
  • What will “activemadam name” do? String at start.
  • Display icon if madam is already in collection
  • Battle Intro
  • Unique skill sound effects depending on type
  • Enemy uses skill RNG pick
  • Display cash text in battle for both trainer and wild battles
  • Have NPCs react to power being restored
  • First Gym
  • Second Gym
  • Unlock TrainerMove to cut small trees
  • Better title screen
  • Encounter sound effect
